What Noindex means
Noindex is a signal you can add to a page telling search engines not to show it in search results at all, even if the page is otherwise fully public.
A founder's staging environment, an old duplicate landing page, or a thin thank-you page might reasonably carry a noindex tag — but that same tag on a live product or listing page would hide it from search entirely.
Noindex is not the same as password-protecting a page or removing it from your site. The page still loads normally for visitors; it simply will not appear in search results.
Check your homepage and directory listing pages for an accidental noindex tag, especially right after a site migration or a template change.
Why this matters for builders
Check that your product and listing pages are not accidentally noindexed.
Mistake builders make often
A common and costly mistake is a developer leaving a noindex tag on from a staging environment after the site goes live, silently hiding key pages from search.
What to do now
Scan your live pages with the Dofollow/Nofollow Checker or Canonical URL Checker to catch any pages accidentally set to noindex.
