What Mydentify collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Last updated August 19, 2026

The short version

Mydentify collects only the information needed to operate accounts, product listings, leaderboards, sponsorships, payments, security, and site measurement. We do not sell personal information or use your account information for targeted advertising.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, name, profile photo, provider account identifier, and—when you use X—your username. Google and X provide this information only after you approve sign-in.
  • Product and builder information: product details, website URLs, descriptions, ownership evidence, submissions, profile updates, badges, and images you provide or ask us to retrieve.
  • Community activity: signals, nominations, leaderboard participation, placements, badges, and related timestamps. Some activity is intentionally displayed publicly.
  • Sponsorship and transaction records: company and contact details, selected placement, order status, Stripe customer or transaction references, and billing status. Stripe processes payment-card details; Mydentify does not store full card numbers.
  • Technical and usage information: request information, device and browser details, referral paths, page activity, approximate network information, security events, and a first-party session identifier stored in your browser.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate members and builders; publish and maintain product profiles; operate signals, leaderboards, badges, and prizes; review submissions and sponsorships; process and reconcile payments; prevent fraud and abuse; provide support; diagnose failures; measure whether the service is useful; and comply with legal obligations.

Google and X sign-in

Google sign-in requests your basic profile, profile photo, and verified email information. X sign-in requests your basic account information, profile photo, and a confirmed email address.

Mydentify uses this information to create or access your account, prevent duplicate identities, and show your public builder profile when you join the community. We do not request access to your posts, contacts, files, or direct messages.

Mydentify’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate Mydentify. They process information only for the services they provide to us. Current providers include Railway for hosting and databases, Stripe for payments, ImageKit for image storage and delivery, Sentry for error monitoring, Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics when you grant analytics consent, and Google or X when you choose their sign-in method. Links to other websites are governed by those websites’ own policies.

Cookies, local storage, and analytics

Mydentify uses secure, HTTP-only cookies for sign-in and short-lived OAuth transactions. We use browser storage for theme and analytics preferences, search or first-party session continuity, and similar product functions. First-party usage events help us operate and improve the service. When an analytics consent prompt is active, Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics remain disabled until you choose “Allow analytics.” When no prompt is active, analytics storage may be enabled by default. Advertising storage remains disabled.

Sharing and disclosure

We share information with service providers as described above, when you direct us to publish it, to complete a transaction, to protect Mydentify or others from fraud or harm, to comply with valid legal process, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

We retain account and transaction records while they are needed to provide the service, maintain public leaderboard history, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use access controls, encrypted transport, signed and limited-lifetime authentication tokens, input limits, rate limiting, and monitoring intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may decline optional analytics, revoke Mydentify’s access from Google or X, cancel an eligible paid service, or ask us to access, correct, or delete account information. Public editorial records, transaction records, security records, and information we must retain may not be removable immediately. Email hello@mydentify.com with a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

Children and international use

Mydentify is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Mydentify changes. The updated date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the service when appropriate. Questions may be sent to hello@mydentify.com. See also our Terms of Service.
