What Corroborated means
Corroborated is a Mydentify status meaning multiple independent sources agree on a directory's details, even though Mydentify has not personally rechecked every field on the live page yet.
If three separate sources all describe the same directory as free with a dofollow link, Mydentify may mark that record corroborated — stronger than a single unchecked mention, but not the same as someone confirming it firsthand today.
Corroborated is not the same as verified. It means agreement across sources, not a direct, current check of the live page performed by Mydentify.
Treat a corroborated record as a good starting point, then confirm pricing and link type yourself before you submit or pay.
Why this matters for builders
Corroborated records are stronger than discovered ones, and weaker than directly verified ones.
Mistake builders make often
Some builders treat a corroborated record the same as a verified one, assuming multiple sources agreeing means the details are current instead of just consistent.
What to do now
Read the directory research methodology to see how corroborated records differ from verified ones, then double-check pricing before you commit.
